Today I began reading a book I bought at Barnes & Noble yesterday - The Bangkok Asset, by John Burdett. It's good! Makes me think of the other books recommended by both Jan and Merrily. This one is set in Thailand, and references Buddhism, the CIA, the Chinese military, the Cambodian jungle, and of course the Thai detective in Bangkok. An added under-story is the detective's search for his American father... Anyway, it's a good way to enjoy the air-conditioned hotel in this humid Houston climate!
